I’ve been married to my wife, Gloria, for 38 years. During this time we have raised 5 children, 4 daughters and 1 son. They all attended Frederick County Public Schools. Jessica is a high school music teacher, Melissa now operates our business, Danielle is an accomplished hair stylist, MaryJo has just graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design and my son Joey is a junior at UMBC. We have been blessed with grandchildren. Over twenty years, Gloria and I were Foster Parents to more than 40 children. In 2005 we were named Frederick County Foster Parents of the Year.
I have been a resident of Frederick County for over 38 years as both a homeowner, manager, business owner and have operated Frederick Shell CarWash on Frederick’s “Golden Mile” since 1984. I have opened my business to innumerable community & civic organizations like the Patty Pollatos Fund, Christmas Cash for Kids, Frederick County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association and many other organizations assisting them in raisng funds for the people of Frederick County. As a Rotarian, it is my belief that we all are required to give back to our community in some way. “Service Above Self” is a belief of so many people here in Frederick! I’ve been a board member of the Golden Mile Alliance, served on the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Council, and was on the Economic Development Advisory Council for the City of Frederick.
Frederick County has been a wonderful place to raise our family and run my business. I want to see Frederick continue to be this special place! Small, efficient government and an individual’s responsibility to take care of his or her self are especially needed. It is time for me to help District 3. I am a small businessman who has employed hundreds of people in entry level positions. I understand the challenges of operating a business and the responsibility of signing paychecks. I want to help bring that common sense to Frederick County.
Frederick County Council District 3 encompasses the western side of Frederick City including both sides of the Golden Mile, East View, Whittier, Clover Hill all the way up to the Homewood Retirement Community.
The decline of the Golden Mile continues with an empty mall and closed businesses. We have a growing opioid epidemic in our community. My business has provided a second chance to many individuals in recovery. We have great schools but our teachers’ hands are tied in maintaining discipline in their classrooms. Seniors struggle to live on fixed incomes as the cost of living increases. Affordable housing is in short supply.
As your Councilman I will work with the city and county governments to help bring growth and vitality back to Frederick. I will respect the personal property rights of all citizens. I’ll work to ensure your hard earned County tax dollars are spent wisely and I promise to listen and take action. I will continue to support our Frederick County Sheriff and local law enforcement agencies.
We are all in this together. I humbly ask for your vote in the Primary Election on June 26th and in the General Election on November 6th!
